Room Information

  • Total rooms (51)
The inn has 51 rooms with bath- toilet and TV. It offers angling stays- art stays with admission to one of the many art museums in the area- weekend stays with carvery table and dancing as well as golf holidays. The inn arranges wine tasting arrangements for groups of at least 10 persons. The inn is situated close to the airport Billund Lufthavn- LEGOLAND and Givskud Zoo. Naturally the inn also arranges parties and it willingly meets your wishes for child- diabetic or vegetarian menus. Hovborg Kro is famous for its low-ceilinged taprooms and for its splendid Jutland food made as in the good old days with butter and cream in pots and pans of the kitchen. There has been an inn here for at least 250 years and the present thatched main building erected in 1790 has reverently been preserved from generation to generation. Without damaging the old atmosphere the owners have succeeded in building in modern facilities valued by todays guests. Thus the old cowshed and the barn have been turned into modern and untraditional conference rooms. Hovborg Kro is situated in a beautiful area with approximately 8.000 acres of wood. This naturally invites to fine walks in the wood or along the nature trail following the stream Holme Aa. Here you can walk for hours without meeting one single person. There are good fishing possibilities in Holme Aa which runs through the huge garden of the inn. The inn is situated in an area in which there are no less than 14 golf courses. Therefore it is natural to spend a golf holiday in Holborg Kro. The atmosphere in the inn is friendly and relaxed and in the inn they spend a lot of care on genuineness and originality. The hosts Johanne and Joergen Joergensen have been here since 1985 and occasionally the innkeeper can be persuaded to tell about the history of the inn and about some of his renowned predecessors in the inn. For example about Nicolai Poulsen who around 1880 began reclaiming the moors beside being an innkeeper.
