Hotel Oktogon- formerly known as Haggenmacher Palace is located at 52 Andrassy avenue in Budapest and has special features. The four-star superior offers 121 rooms- with an overall sporty and balanced look. Inside the historical building a kind of playfulness and youth appears. Geometric patterns keep coming back throughout the building- a good example of this is the original chessboard-patterned flooring in the hallways retained by the designers- which lends a rhythm to the public spaces. While the outside is dominated by black and white- in the interiors- greyish red- greyish green and greyish blue motifs divert the guests eyes to the carpet- which together with the asymmetrical wall painting makes the interiors unified.
