The opening of the Sallingsund Bridge in 1978 put a stop to this epoch in the regional history but the inn lives on in a new era. It has recently been renovated and today it presents itself to the guests as a modern four-star hotel in which everything has been done to preserve the cosy style and the special charm of the place. The natural surroundings are exquisite with the magnificent area Legind Bjerge- Jesperhus flower park- Hoejriis Castle-the woods and the fjord. Within a few kilometres you find the capital of the island of Mors more precisely Nykoebing Mors. Here there are good shopping possibilities.
the inn is well suited for courses and conferences- parties- excursions and weekends - or simply as a place to spend a night en route. The cuisine is best described as the new Danish kitchen. The chef certainly has nothing against the traditional cuisine as we know it from the inns all over the country. He favours fresh ingredients and in particular fresh fish straight from the sea Since 1991 Jens-Peter Skov has owned Sallingsund Faergekro and since 1995 he and his cuisine has been a purveyor to the Danish Court when the royal family celebrates a festive occasion. He supplied the dinner for the wedding of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary. At the same time he may boast of the largest wine card in Jutland and from time to time he organizes wine tasting arrangements where he tells about the wines and about his own wine experiences.
