**Following recent development with the restoration and refurbishment \nproject of the Phoenicia, the owners of the hotel have decided to \npostpone the opening of the hotel to January 2nd 2017 (date subject to change). \n\nThe Phoenicia is located just 50 meters from the entrance to Valletta \nand the new parliament building both designed by world renowned \narchitect Renzo Piano.\n\nThe hotel's location is ideal to discover the fortified capital city \nbuilt by the Knights of St John and is within walking distance from St \nJohn's Co-Cathedral, Museums, Mediterranean Conference Centre, the \nGrand Master's Palace, Manoel Theatre etc.\n\nThe Valletta waterfront, with Malta's only Cruise terminal is just 5 \nminutes away by Taxi.\n\nThe hotel boasts of 7 acres of mature, landscaped gardens with the \nBastion pool at the end of the gardens. This secluded area is nestled \nby the fortification walls of the city and has panoramic views of \nMarsamxett harbour.\n\nThe Phoenicia is Malta's oldest Luxury hotel built in the 1930's and is \na historic graded building.\n\nThe elevation of the hotel also means that most of the rooms offer \ngreat views of Marsamxett harbour, Grand Harbour, the capital city \nValletta and the town of Floriana.\n\nArt deco style. The hotel also owns the largest private collection of \npainting by one of Malta's best known artist, Edward Caruana Dingli.
